Microsoft TeamsPLANNED GA — VERIFY

AI Interpreter planned for Teams Events

Roadmap ID 576711 targets real-time AI-powered audio interpretation for Teams town halls and webinars. Organizers will be able to configure supported languages, but Microsoft lists the Windows and Mac capability as in development.

Planning impact: Validate supported languages, interpretation accuracy, licensing, consent and recording or retention behaviour before piloting. Treat November as a roadmap estimate, not production availability.

Microsoft TeamsPLANNED GA — POLICY DECISION

Audio announcement planned for recording and transcription

Roadmap ID 559609 targets an administrator policy that can play an audible announcement when recording or transcription starts. Microsoft lists tenant-wide or group-scoped policy across desktop, Mac, Android and iOS.

Planning impact: Legal, privacy and accessibility owners should decide the intended policy scope and whether the audio notice complements existing visual notices. Test client coverage and policy inheritance before rollout.

Microsoft Teams RoomsLAUNCHED — VERIFY TENANT

Town Hall front-of-room view control is marked launched

Roadmap ID 500378 now lists launched status for Teams Rooms on Android front-of-room view control in Town Halls. Microsoft still describes webinar support as a later 2026 development.

Planning impact: Validate the launched Town Hall control in production rings before changing event-room procedures. Keep webinar presenter-view planning separate until Microsoft publishes rollout evidence.

Microsoft Teams RoomsLAUNCHED — VERIFY TENANT

Simplified voice and face-recognition settings are marked launched

Roadmap ID 502525 now lists launched status for simplified settings across device settings and Teams Rooms Pro Management. Microsoft says the supported interface removes the previous PowerShell requirement.

Planning impact: Update administrator runbooks and roles, then validate tenant availability before retiring PowerShell-based procedures.

Microsoft Teams RoomsPLANNED GA — VERIFY

Event Group chat planned for Teams Rooms on Android

Roadmap ID 574107 targets private organizer-and-presenter chat plus attendee chat on Teams Rooms on Android during structured meetings and events. Microsoft lists a Teams Rooms Pro requirement and Worldwide, GCC, GCC High and DoD availability, but the feature remains in development.

Planning impact: Validate room licensing, event roles, moderation and transcript or retention policy in a pilot tenant. Do not train users or commit event operations until the room app and tenant rollout are confirmed.

Microsoft TeamsPLANNED GA — LICENCE DEPENDENT

Teams Events registration capacity targets 20,000

Roadmap ID 574110 targets up to 20,000 registrations for events with eligible Teams Premium Attendee Packs. The record is in development and does not change current production limits until tenant rollout is confirmed.

Planning impact: Revalidate licensing, registration load, attendee communications and support plans before moving large events from another platform. Treat 20,000 as a roadmap ceiling, not current capacity.

Microsoft TeamsPLANNED GA — VERIFY

NDI streaming switchboard planned for meetings and events

Roadmap ID 573453 targets a switchboard for selecting and switching Network Device Interface sources in Teams meetings and events on Windows and Mac.

Planning impact: Production teams should test network capacity, source discovery, operator controls and broadcast redundancy before adopting the workflow. Availability remains a roadmap estimate.

Microsoft TeamsROLLING OUT — VERIFY

Transcript profanity control is rolling out

Roadmap ID 570467 moved to Rolling out on 9 October. It gives administrators control over profanity filtering in live and saved transcripts for Worldwide and GCC tenants.

Planning impact: Review transcript policy with legal, HR and records teams, document the chosen setting and verify it in live and saved outputs before relying on the control.

Microsoft TeamsCANCELLED

Interpreter tenant dashboard cancelled

Microsoft cancelled Roadmap ID 565217, which had targeted a tenant-level dashboard for Interpreter usage and adoption.

Planning impact: Remove the dashboard from reporting plans and identify an alternative measurement approach before committing adoption targets or support KPIs.

Zoom RoomsRELEASED — VALIDATE BY PLATFORM

Zoom Rooms 7.2.0 is released across room and controller platforms

Zoom now lists 7.2.0 builds for Windows, macOS, appliances, iPad, room controllers, the web controller, Custom AV Controller and Zoom for Google Beam. Changes include My Notes, up to six companion devices, sensitivity labels, stronger AI restrictions, configuration-profile audit and drift controls, a refreshed controller interface, webinar room controls and Neat Pad Gen 2 support.

Planning impact: Move from roadmap monitoring into controlled deployment. Test governance, licensing, controller workflow, configuration drift and hardware dependencies in validation rings; mobile releases can still lag app-store approval.

Microsoft Teams RoomsACTION REQUIRED

Teams Admin Center device-health alerts retire

Microsoft will retire the TAC Device state rule and its health alerts as monitoring moves to Teams Rooms Pro Management. Existing configurations and alert history do not migrate; MonitoringAlerts channel notifications and webhook payloads stop.

Planning impact: Inventory rules, recipients and ITSM or monitoring webhooks, recreate equivalent health monitoring in Pro Management and validate delivery before the cutover. End users see no change, so a failed migration can remain invisible until a device goes offline.

Microsoft Teams RoomsPLANNED GA

Breakout rooms planned for Teams Rooms on Android

Roadmap ID 569447 targets the ability to add an Android room to a breakout room and move it between the breakout session and the main meeting. Microsoft lists the feature as in development for Worldwide and GCC tenants.

Planning impact: Plan pilots for training, workshops and exercises, but verify tenant rollout, room-app compatibility and the organizer workflow before committing to the November estimate.

Microsoft Teams RoomsPLANNED GA

Proximity join planned for Teams event attendees

Roadmap ID 568781 targets proximity join with nearby Teams Rooms on Windows or Android during town halls, webinars and other structured Teams events. Microsoft lists Worldwide, GCC and GCC High clouds, but the capability remains in development.

Planning impact: Update event-room guidance and validate Bluetooth and proximity policy, room-client eligibility and licensing before the target window. Do not promise availability until tenant rollout is confirmed.

Microsoft Teams RoomsPLANNED GA

Enhanced IntelliFrame AI data channel for certified cameras

Roadmap ID 564969 targets an AI data channel between certified intelligent cameras and Teams Rooms Pro. Microsoft says on-device processing can improve active-speaker framing, people recognition and labels, including under constrained network conditions.

Planning impact: Require model-level certification, firmware and room-client prerequisites before standardizing. Treat the January date as planning evidence only and do not assume every AI-branded camera supports the data channel.

Microsoft Teams RoomsROADMAP — VERIFY

Bookable-desk utilization analytics planned in Teams Pro Management

Roadmap ID 570648 targets utilization analytics for Teams bookable desks. A desk must have one or more associated peripheral devices and a Teams Shared Space or Teams Shared Space - Single Space licence.

Planning impact: Treat desk endpoints as workplace-data sources. Confirm peripheral association, licensing, privacy, retention and access policy before using the analytics for space decisions.

Biamp / LenovoDISCONTINUED — REPLACEMENT AVAILABLE

UCC-Lenovo TSC2-IP room compute retires while supplies last

Biamp discontinued the TSC2-IP-MTR and TSC2-IP-ZOOM systems and associated VBC 2500a, VBC 2800 and Lenovo X400 room bundles. The named TSC2D-IP replacements add a second LAN port; Biamp said they were available in Europe and due in other regions in late August.

Planning impact: Remove retiring SKUs from new standards and map quotes, spares and deployed bundles to the exact replacement. Validate regional stock, firmware and how the added network interface changes segmentation, imaging and support procedures.

Google Meet RoomsROLLING OUT — VERIFY

Gemini note-taking controls roll out to Meet hardware controllers

Google began gradual production rollout on 8 September for Rapid and Scheduled Release domains, with completion expected within up to 15 days. Eligible room touch controllers can start, stop, pause and resume Take notes for me without a Companion-mode laptop.

Planning impact: Verify feature licensing, administrator enablement, meeting eligibility, consent and notification practices, retention policy and controller visibility by room. Treat 8 September as rollout start, not simultaneous tenant availability.

EU Cyber Resilience ActREGULATORY DEADLINE

Cyber Resilience Act incident and vulnerability reporting begins

Article 14 reporting obligations begin for products with digital elements made available in the EU. Manufacturers must submit an early warning within 24 hours after awareness of an actively exploited vulnerability or severe security incident and a full notification within 72 hours through ENISA's Single Reporting Platform.

Planning impact: Connected AV/VC hardware and software suppliers should confirm product scope, monitoring, escalation, evidence preservation and notification ownership now. Enterprise and government buyers should test these obligations in supplier security and lifecycle terms.

Cisco RoomOSRELEASED — VALIDATE BY DEVICE

RoomOS 26.10.1.4 releases native Zoom Rooms on supported Cisco devices

Cisco released the native Zoom Rooms experience for a defined list of Webex-registered Board, Desk and Room devices. The release also gives supported peripheral network interfaces a unique MAC address and moves room macros to QuickJS-NG.

Planning impact: Pilot the exact device and Navigator combination, update MAC-dependent Cisco ISE and switch policy before upgrade, and regression-test macros. Cisco Teams Rooms remains on a separate Microsoft-supported release track.

Neat OSPREVIEW — LAB VALIDATION

Neat OS 26.5.3 stays stable while preview app components advance

Neat completed the 26.5.3 Stable rollout in September. Its 9 October Preview note schedules app-only updates for 10 October: Intune AOSP 26.06.4 and Authenticator 6.2609.6407 for Teams, plus Zoom Rooms Appliance 7.2.0 and Controller 7.2.0. Neat OS itself does not change.

Planning impact: Use the Preview channel only in lab or lower-risk rooms because Neat does not fully support preview software for production. Validate app compatibility and management telemetry separately from the Neat OS build.

Google Meet RoomsEARLY PREVIEW — VERIFY

Android Meet and Teams Rooms interoperability preview rollout

Google expects end-user visibility by 7 September for Android/AOSP Google Meet hardware and Microsoft Teams Rooms enrolled in Early Preview on Rapid Release domains. The capability is on by default at the organizational-unit level and preserves existing Pexip settings.

Planning impact: Use the date as a preview rollout checkpoint, not general availability. Confirm enrollment, supported hardware and OU policy, and retain Pexip where the existing gateway remains operationally or contractually required.

Google Meet RoomsLIFECYCLE NOTICE

ChromeOS Meet compute-system manufacturing and sales wind down

Google says Logitech/CTL ChromeOS Google Meet Compute System manufacturing and sales will end in February 2027 and ASUS in April 2027 as the portfolio transitions to Android/AOSP. Existing ChromeOS support remains unchanged through model-specific dates up to September 2030.

Planning impact: Separate purchasing deadlines from support expiry. Map installed models to exact support dates and evaluate certified Android/AOSP replacements before the next capital refresh.

Microsoft Teams RoomsCERTIFICATION DEADLINE

Android 10 and 11 Teams certification has ended

Microsoft's device-support policy now records certification end on 3 September 2026 for Teams devices based on Android 10 and 11. Microsoft application support continues through 3 September 2027, subject to certified firmware delivery through supported management channels.

Planning impact: Classify affected room, phone and panel hardware as legacy supported rather than a forward-looking standard. Confirm each OEM's Android upgrade and recertification path before further procurement or redeployment.

Cisco RoomOSRELEASED — DEVICE FIT VARIES

RoomOS 26.9.1.4 releases dual-PTZ tracking and cross-platform assurance

Cisco released RoomOS 26.9.1.4 with dual Room Vision PTZ tracking on Room Kit Pro G2 and Room Kit EQ, standalone Room Navigator desk booking, zero-touch activation and Edge provisioning, ThousandEyes agent monitoring during Zoom meetings, 3D visualization, calibration improvements and AV fixes.

Planning impact: Pilot by endpoint and registration mode. The release is available for Webex-registered RoomOS 26 devices, but Cisco's 28 September revision says Microsoft currently supports RoomOS 26.8.1.7 on Cisco Teams Rooms; do not collapse the two release channels.

Microsoft Teams RoomsROLLOUT WINDOW — VERIFY

Optimize for room replaces add shared display in BYOD spaces

Roadmap ID 564912 renames and relocates the Teams desktop Add shared display control. The user-initiated experience can select room-associated AV peripherals, activate shared-display mode and represent in-room participants under a room node when a laptop is used with shared equipment.

Planning impact: Update user and help-desk guidance, and test peripheral association, external-display behavior and voice-recognition policy. This is a Teams desktop/BYOD capability adjacent to Teams Rooms, not a native Teams Rooms app release.

Microsoft Teams RoomsROLLING OUT — VERIFY

Passwordless Entra resource accounts for shared Teams devices

Roadmap ID 558853 is marked Rolling out for Teams Rooms on Windows and Android, Teams Panels and Teams Phones. Microsoft describes separate device and user identities, a migration wizard and progress tracking in the Pro Management portal.

Planning impact: Inventory existing resource-account authentication before migration. Treat the roadmap status as a staged rollout and verify tenant, cloud and device eligibility before removing credentials or changing operating procedures.

Microsoft Teams RoomsROADMAP ROLLOUT — VERIFY

Interpreter agent on Teams Rooms for Android

Microsoft targets general availability for real-time interpreted audio on Teams Rooms on Android with a Teams Rooms Pro licence, including Worldwide, GCC High and DoD clouds.

Planning impact: The roadmap simultaneously labels the item In Development and says it is available. Treat August as a rollout window and verify the room, tenant and cloud before promising the experience.

Official source ↗Permalink #
Microsoft Teams RoomsMIGRATION WINDOW

Android device management leaves Teams admin center

Teams admin center workflows are expected to redirect increasingly during August, with overlapping Android room, panel, phone and SIP management functions scheduled for retirement in September.

Planning impact: Update operating procedures, roles and integrations now. Microsoft says dates remain subject to refinement, so decommissioning should be tested rather than inferred from the calendar.

Official source ↗Permalink #
Microsoft Teams RoomsCLIENT RELEASED — FEATURE ROLLING OUT

Native local PTZ controls on Teams Rooms for Windows

Teams Rooms on Windows 5.7.112.0 is released with the local PTZ client capability, while revised Message Center record MC1459138 places Worldwide feature enablement in early through late October and GCC availability in mid-October through early November. Initial support remains limited to mechanical or optical PTZ; digital PTZ is deferred.

Planning impact: Do not equate client installation with tenant availability. Validate camera compatibility, 5.7.112.0 deployment and tenant feature enablement before updating room standards or user training.

Zoom RoomsVENDOR FORECAST

AI-led room preparation, adaptive camera mode and My Notes

Zoom forecasts occupancy-aware room preparation, automatic camera-mode selection, controller-based My Notes, enhanced voice control, proactive troubleshooting and smart name tags for voice.

Planning impact: These are vendor forecast dates, not release-note confirmation. Pilot by hardware class and review occupancy, identity and transcript governance before broad enablement.

Zoom RoomsLIFECYCLE NOTICE

Final Zoom Rooms release expected for Windows 10 Retail/GAC

Zoom says the September release is expected to be the last that supports Windows 10 Retail/GAC. The application stops receiving updates afterward; formal platform end of support is December 2027.

Planning impact: Inventory OS edition now. Windows 10 IoT LTSC follows a separate timeline, so do not classify every Windows 10 room as affected without checking the installed edition.

Official source ↗Permalink #
Zoom RoomsEXTERNAL DEADLINE

Exchange Online EWS retirement affects room calendars

Zoom recommends moving affected Zoom Rooms and Workspace Reservation calendar integrations from Exchange Web Services impersonation or full-delegate patterns to Microsoft Graph application permissions ahead of Microsoft's planned retirement.

Planning impact: This is an external dependency, not a Zoom feature launch. A missed migration can break room calendar synchronization and one-touch join even when the Zoom Room itself is healthy.

Official source ↗Permalink #
Zoom RoomsCONFIRMED CHECKPOINT

Quarterly minimum-version enforcement checkpoint

Zoom currently lists version 6.0.0 as the minimum for Zoom Rooms, controllers, scheduling displays and whiteboards at the November enforcement checkpoint—the same published minimum as August.

Planning impact: The unchanged minimum is not permission to defer patching: security advisories can require newer builds, and Zoom may update lifecycle tables with advance notice.

Zoom RoomsVENDOR FORECAST

Voice translator forecast for Zoom Rooms

Zoom expects real-time translated audio inside rooms, allowing participants to listen in a selected language.

Planning impact: Validate language coverage, latency, attribution and data handling. The date remains a newsroom forecast until it appears in release notes for specific room platforms.

Zoom RoomsLIFECYCLE NOTICE

Last supported Zoom Rooms release for Android 9 appliances

Zoom's Android appliance policy identifies December 2026 as the final supported Zoom Rooms release for Android 9, with platform end of support scheduled for March 2028.

Planning impact: Map appliance models to their underlying Android version; some vendor-specific hardware timelines can be shorter than Zoom's generic OS policy.
