Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Google Meet and Pexip features, security, software changes and lifecycle controls for meeting and event experiences.
Platform pulse
Current direction across four meeting and event platforms.
Zoom separates released meeting media from a broader experience roadmap
Validate released 60 fps sharing against Enhanced Media licensing, Ultra HD and network prerequisites. Keep the forecast features in controlled pilot plans until release notes and tenant controls are published.
Zoom announces centralized AI governance and deepfake-risk controls
Validate the released Purview integration now, but do not use the forecast controls in production compliance or identity assurance baselines until Zoom publishes licensing, limits, audit behaviour and release evidence.

Teams plans an audio announcement when recording or transcription starts
Decide whether the notice should be tenant-wide or group-scoped and test client coverage, accessibility and policy inheritance before rollout.

RoomOS 26.10.1.4 releases native Zoom Rooms on supported Cisco devices
Cisco makes the native Zoom Rooms experience available on a defined set of Webex-registered Board, Desk and Room devices. The same release gives supported peripheral network interfaces a unique MAC address and upgrades room macros to QuickJS-NG.
What determines fit
Validate model and 4 GB Navigator eligibility, dual Control Hub and Zoom administration, network-access policy changes and macro compatibility before rollout. Cisco Teams Rooms remains on a separate Microsoft-supported release track.
Teams optimizes Town Hall attendance for Windows VDI endpoints
Microsoft says Town Hall attendee optimization now offloads audio and video to supported Windows endpoints using Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365, Citrix, Omnissa or Amazon while retaining captions, DVR, reactions, chat, Q&A and supported eCDNs.
What determines fit
Pilot each supported broker and endpoint build, then validate direct endpoint networking, eCDN behavior and support telemetry before relying on the optimization for large events. Mixed-platform estates still need a fallback.
Webex adds governed WhatsApp client messaging through LeapXpert
LeapXpert says its available-now Leap Work integration lets Webex users message external contacts on WhatsApp from inside Webex, with bidirectional data-loss prevention and full conversation capture. The Webex App Hub confirms the embedded app, additional supported channels and paid-service dependency.
What determines fit
Validate Leap Work provisioning, Webex licensing, retention, information barriers, ethical walls, antivirus scanning and archive workflows before rollout. This is a third-party app integration that requires both a Leap Work account and a Webex licence.
Zoom Workspace Reservation adds guided deployment and floor-map automation
A guided setup wizard supports bulk location and Zoom Room mapping, desk creation, permissions, check-in roles and deployment rules. The release also adds automated floor-map placement, third-party meeting links and scheduling-display asset details.
What determines fit
Pilot the workflow, then validate generated floor plans, calendar mappings, access policy and check-in rules before scaling. Zoom's AI-assisted map placement remains a vendor claim until tested in the target environment.
